I have a little secret; don’t tell anyone, but conflict is more positive than people think.

With a background in law, employee relations, industrial relations and diversity, I understand workplace issues intimately.

Known for my creative and transparent approach to problem-solving, I challenge the status quo and question limitations. I’ve been described as compassionately confronting.

Some of my career highlights so far include:

  • Giving back time, energy and productivity to individuals and organisations through successful grievance management and conflict resolution.
  • Mediating conflict resolution for diverse sectors including education, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, client services and government.
  • Changing Toyota’s industrial relations culture to one of employee relations – influencing senior internal and union management to think differently and relate to each other more positively and relate to each other more positively.
  • Being invited to be an Associate with the prestigious Triad Group of consultants of Harvard academics.
  • Acting as a Restorative Engagement Facilitator for the Defence Abuse Response Taskforce.
  • Establishing a Diversity Program for Berri Ltd.
  • Coaching individuals and organisations to manage their working relationships effectively, including HR professionals, supervisors, business owners and Boards.

But career highlights are not always on a grand scale. One moment I’ll never forget is when a man I coached for a negotiation once told me, ‘You’ve taught me to use my words and not my fists’.

Put simply, I love helping people maximise their potential so they can thrive in the workplace.

Stories inspire me. And I believe every person has a remarkable story about why they are doing what they do.

Known for my ability to build trust and rapport with people quickly, I work with senior managers, line managers and floor staff to improve their skills and capacity for effective workplace relationships.

Clients enjoy working with me because I understand the drivers and forces at play – both within the organisation and the workplace relationship.

My career highlights so far include:

  • Working with diverse organisations and industries such as a family manufacturing business, not-for-profits, health, the MCC, Zoos Victoria, all tiers of government and the Melbourne Fire Brigade.
  • Working on high profile litigation cases involving the Australian Government.
  • Helping to move The Salvation Army Employment Plus from a welfare mentality to a performance culture through a message of personal accountability and integrity.
  • Successfully conducting workplace investigations for all types of workplaces including mine sites in QLD, hospitals in Victoria, regional animal food stock manufacturers, inner city IT service providers, schools, accounting firms and beyond.
  • Helping to build the management and workplace skills of business owners and managers across a range of industries including manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, health care and more.
